Job Summary

GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd., in partnership with one of our esteemed oil and gas clients in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Junior Buyer. The successful candidate will support the procurement activities within the client’s organization, focusing on managing purchase requisitions, creating and issuing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting the procure-to-pay process.

Key Responsibilities

Buyer Responsibilities

  • Review purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Create and manage purchase orders in SAP.
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers and confirm reorder and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding order status and delivery confirmations.
  • Manage, update, and close out purchase orders as needed.
  • Resolve any invoicing issues between suppliers and the business units.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the procure-to-pay process and articulate it effectively.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to procurement challenges.
  • Gather necessary information for new supplier creation.
  • Collaborate closely with the client's business units and various internal stakeholders.

P Card Responsibilities

  • Manage the support mailbox, responding to cardholder requests within 2 business days.
  • Process onboarding and offboarding of cardholders as required.
  • Obtain cardholder consent for payroll deduction reimbursements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve US Bank cardholder issues.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Procurement experience, ideally within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency with SAP is essential.
  • Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills and the ability to develop trusting relationships.
  • Exceptional time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative, driven, and self-directed attitude.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
