GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Power Engineer to join our valued client's gas plant operations team in Alberta. This is a full-time position on a 7 days on, 7 days off rotation. The role is pivotal in overseeing the operation and maintenance of plant equipment, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance, particularly in the management of sour gas processes.The ideal candidate brings expertise in amine and sulfur recovery systems and contributes to our client's commitment to operational excellence. You will work alongside engineers, technicians, and operations staff to keep the plant running reliably, safely, and to environmental standards.
What You'll Do
- Operate and maintain plant equipment to ensure adherence to safety and efficiency standards, including amine and sulfur recovery units.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards, with a specialized focus on sour gas handling.
- Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous plant operation.
- Operate and monitor control systems efficiently, responding promptly to deviations or alarms.
- Assist in planning and executing routine maintenance and outage activities to ensure plant reliability.
- Participate in emergency response drills and incidents, demonstrating preparedness and safety awareness.
- Maintain accurate operational records and report on plant performance and operational issues.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and staff to ensure optimal plant operations.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts, suggesting operational and safety enhancements.
- Guide and train junior staff, promoting adherence to best practices and safety standards.
What You Bring
- Minimum 4th Class Power Engineer Certification (Alberta standards).
- Experience in sour gas plant operations.
- Proficiency with control systems and industrial automation tools.

Preferred Qualifications
- First or Second Class Power Engineer Certification (Alberta standards).
- Hands-on experience with amine and sulfur recovery units.
- Prior experience mentoring junior operators or shift staff.
Work Environment
This is a field-based industrial operations role in a sour gas processing environment. Work is performed on a 7 days on, 7 days off rotation schedule. The position requires strict adherence to plant safety protocols, personal protective equipment standards, and emergency response procedures specific to sour gas handling.What We Offer
