Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Refractory Pin Welder to join our Valued Clients team at a mineral processing plant in Exshaw, Alberta. This is a contract position, ideally suited to an individual committed to excellence and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform stud and pin welding for refractory linings in kilns, cyclones, and processing vessels
  • Interpret drawings and specifications related to refractory systems and welding layouts
  • Inspect weld quality and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper setup, calibration, and operation
  • Follow all site-specific safety procedures and actively participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in refractory pin welding within industrial or processing plant environments
  • Valid CWB certification or equivalent welding qualifications
  • Experience working in shutdowns, turnarounds, or maintenance projects
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding procedures
  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS, Confined Space, Fall Protection)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in mineral processing plants, cement plants, or similar heavy industrial operations
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) or forklift certification
  • Familiarity with refractory installation and maintenance practices

Work Environment:

  • Heavy industrial mineral processing facility with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and confined spaces
  • Work may be performed at heights and in physically demanding conditions
  • Strict adherence to PPE requirements and site safety protocols is mandatory
