Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Steamer Operator to join our Valued Clients team at an oil sands project near Fort McMurray. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to an individual committed to excellence and safety in a field-based environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor steam trucks and related equipment for thawing frozen ground, pipelines, and oilfield infrastructure.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring all equipment is safe and operational.
- Maintain consistent pressure and temperature levels while steaming, ensuring safe and effective operations.
- Complete daily logs, safety documentation, and reporting requirements accurately.
- Adhere strictly to site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct basic maintenance and troubleshooting of steam equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate work activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating steam trucks or similar oilfield equipment.
- Strong understanding of oilfield safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work in remote locations and extreme weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of handling demanding fieldwork.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S Alive, First Aid).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in oil sands or heavy oil operations.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance experience.
- Additional safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, OSSA, or site-specific training).
Work Environment:
- Outdoor, field-based work in oil sands environments with exposure to cold weather conditions.
- Rotational work environment with camp accommodations provided where applicable.
- Work involves operating heavy equipment and working around pressurized systems.
