Dedicated to sustainable employment, we emphasize career opportunities and empowerment for Indigenous communities across Canada. Join us and contribute to building a more inclusive future.
The Role
GrizzlyTrek is hiring one Journeyman Electrician for a permanent position with a federal facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This is a rare opportunity to move from project-based trades work into a long-term, pensionable career with defined progression, paid leave, and genuine job security.
You will maintain the electrical backbone of a large-scale facility, covering distribution systems, fire and security alarms, and building infrastructure. The role includes mentoring on-site personnel and may offer opportunities to move between federal facility locations across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba as your career progresses.
Why This Role
  • Lifetime pension. Defined-benefit federal pension. After 10 years of service, you can retire at age 50 with operational service credit.
  • Real job security. A permanent federal role, immune to the boom-bust cycles of oil and gas or construction. Your paycheque does not depend on the price of a barrel.
  • Vacation that actually grows. Start with 3 weeks. Earn your way to 6 weeks. Add a one-time 40-hour bump after 2 years, plus 12 paid statutory holidays.
  • Full benefits from day one. Health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and paramedical coverage. Plus paid sick time, personal leave, bereavement, parental, and family care leave.
  • Paid to stay sharp. Training Differential of 7% to 9% on top of your wage, plus a $2,140 annual Special Duty Allowance.
  • Career pathway. Mentor on-site personnel, move between federal facilities across the Prairies, and build a tradesperson's career with ongoing development support.

  • Willingness to travel to various facility locations as required
Preferred Qualifications
