Job Description: Buyer
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Start Date: Mid-February
Starting Rate: $40-$45 / hr
GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd. is a proudly Indigenous-owned staffing company dedicated to creating long-term sustainable employment opportunities for Indigenous people across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire Purchase Order lifecycle.
- Conduct RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and RFBs.
- Negotiate legal terms and contracts, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Maintain relationships with SCM, clients, and suppliers.
- Perform market research and data analysis.
- Identify cost savings and opportunities for improvement.
- Resolve invoice-related issues.
- Develop sourcing strategies and support audits.
- Focus on continuous improvement and compliance.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in supply chain management (or equivalent experience).
- 5–10 years of experience in a similar role.
- SCMP designation (an asset but not required).
- Proficiency in SAP (considered an asset).
- Must read and write English fluently.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in high-stress environments.
- Clear communication and data entry skills.
- Knowledge of commercial terms and the procure-to-pay process.
