GrizzlyTrek is seeking experienced Excavator and Dozer Operators to join our valued client's team in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a full-time position paying $38.00 per hour, with multiple projects booked through to winter.The work covers two streams. In and around the city it is civil earthworks and site preparation, including stripping topsoil, cut and fill, trench and backfill, and building pads, roads and parking areas to grade. Outside the city it is oilfield lease construction and access roads. Crews mobilize out of Edmonton, and operators are home most nights.
What You'll Do
- Operate excavator and dozer on civil earthworks, site preparation, lease construction and access roads
- Strip topsoil, move cut and fill, and build pads, roads and parking areas to grade
- Dig, slope and backfill trench for underground utilities and pipe
- Work to grade stakes, laser and GPS machine control
- Complete daily walkarounds, pre-trip inspections and greasing before the machine moves
- Spot for ground crews, load trucks, and keep ground disturbance clear of buried facilities
- Participate in pre-job safety meetings, hazard assessments and toolbox talks
What You Bring
- Verifiable seat time on excavator or dozer in civil or oilfield construction
- Ability to read grade stakes and hold elevation with minimal supervision
- Current residency in Edmonton, with reliable transportation to Edmonton area sites
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- CSTS or equivalent, Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive and Standard First Aid
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and work outdoors through the season
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on both excavator and dozer
- GPS machine control experience (Trimble or Topcon)
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence for equipment moves and float work
Work Environment
- Outdoor construction sites in and around Edmonton, in all weather through the season
- A mix of urban civil earthworks and rural oilfield lease and road construction
- Day trips out of Edmonton, with operators home most nights
- Site specific safety procedures, permits and ground disturbance requirements apply
