The Role
GrizzlyTrek is seeking an experienced Oil Blending Plant Operator to join our valued client's team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This is a full-time position for an operator with 10 to 15 years of oil battery or blending plant experience, paying $35.00 to $45.00 per hour depending on experience.
The Oil Blending Plant Operator manages blending operations at the oil processing and blending plant to ensure proper product composition and quality. The role involves monitoring equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining product quality, and optimizing plant performance. This is a senior operating role: the client is looking for someone who can run the plant with minimal supervision and bring proven judgment to troubleshooting and process decisions.
What You'll Do
  • Oversee blending processes to ensure accurate and efficient mixing of products to target specification.
  • Monitor equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning during blending operations.
  • Perform quality control checks to verify product specifications are met.
  • Adjust valves, pumps, and controls to achieve target blends.
  • Conduct routine inspections and schedule preventative maintenance on plant systems.
  • Document blending operations, maintaining accurate records of production data and equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the production and quality control teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
  • Report daily plant activities, produce reports, and monitor inventory.
What You Bring
  • 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience operating an oil battery or an oil blending plant.
  • H2S Alive.
  • Alberta Standard First Aid and CPR/AED with BC Work Endorsement.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5th Class or higher Power Engineering certificate.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations specific to oil and gas processing.
Work Environment
  • Industrial plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and hazardous materials.
  • Physical work, including lifting heavy equipment and climbing ladders as needed.
  • Shift work, including nights and weekends, based on operational needs.
