GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator to join our valued client's team in Fort McMurray, AB. This is a full-time position suited to an experienced equipment operator who takes pride in safe, efficient operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating dozers and loaders within a landfill facility, maintaining compliance with site procedures and safety standards.What You'll Do
- Operate dozers and loaders in a landfill facility environment.
- Interface with drivers, coordinating logistics and ensuring efficient truck flow.
- Load and unload trucks safely and in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
- Assist with general facility operations as required.
- Adhere to all site safety protocols, environmental regulations, and SOPs.
- Perform hazard identification and participate in incident reporting.
What You Bring
- Proven experience operating dozers and/or loaders in a field or industrial setting.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 considered an asset).
- Strong commitment to safety and site compliance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills for interfacing with drivers and site personnel.
- Willingness to work a 14/14 rotational schedule.
- Must be local to Fort McMurray, AB.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in landfill, waste management, or similar industrial operations.
- Familiarity with environmental and regulatory compliance in a facility setting.
- Previous experience in oil and gas or mining environments.
- H2S Alive and Standard First Aid certifications.
Work Environment
- Outdoor landfill facility with exposure to heavy equipment and industrial conditions.
- Requires physical stamina and the ability to perform heavy work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong safety culture and compliance-driven environment.
- Must be local to Fort McMurray, AB. No camp or travel provided.
