Field Material Coordinator
GrizzlyTrek is hiring one Field Material Coordinator for our valued client's team in Sherwood Park, Alberta. You own the flow of materials and equipment onto site: ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing and issuing, so crews have what they need on the day they need it. This is a local, onsite role, Monday to Friday, home every night.

Position TypeFull-Time
LocationSherwood Park, Alberta (onsite, local candidates only)
ScheduleMonday to Friday, onsite five days a week
Hours8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
CompensationCompetitive, based on experience
ExperienceMaterial coordination or procurement in construction or engineering
EducationBachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
Screening5-panel drug test and breath alcohol test required
Travel and AccommodationNo per diem for this role. Candidates must live within daily commuting distance of site.

The Role
The Field Material Coordinator manages the procurement, storage and distribution of materials and equipment at construction sites. You are the link between the suppliers and the crews: tracking what has been ordered, confirming what has landed, catching what is short or damaged before it stops work, and keeping the laydown yard in a state where anyone can find what they need.
You work directly with suppliers, contractors and project teams, and you report material status to project managers, engineers and procurement staff. When a shipment arrives wrong, you are the one who sorts it out.
What You'll Do
  • Coordinate the procurement, delivery and storage of materials and equipment at construction sites
  • Develop and maintain material tracking systems to monitor inventory levels, deliveries and usage
  • Work with suppliers, contractors and project teams so materials and equipment arrive in time to hold the project schedule
  • Inspect incoming materials and equipment for quality and compliance with project specifications and standards
  • Resolve material issues and discrepancies, including shortages, damages and incorrect shipments
  • Maintain accurate records of material transactions: receipts, shipments and inventory adjustments
  • Coordinate material handling and storage activities so the yard stays safe and efficient
  • Communicate with project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers and procurement personnel
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
  • Experience working as a material coordinator or procurement specialist in the construction or engineering industry
  • Knowledge of material management principles, practices and procedures
  • Familiarity with construction materials and equipment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Local to the Sherwood Park and Edmonton area and able to be onsite five days a week
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Successful completion of a 5-panel drug test
  • Successful completion of a breath alcohol test
  • Screening must be completed before site access is granted
Work Environment
  • Onsite in Sherwood Park, Monday to Friday. This role cannot be worked remotely.
  • Time is split between the site office, the laydown yard and active work areas, indoors and outdoors in all weather
  • Material handling and storage areas, with site-required PPE worn at all times
  • No per diem or living out allowance is provided. Candidates must be local and able to travel to site daily.
Why Coordinators Take This Job
Material coordination in the field is not a warehouse job. You see the project, you know the crews, and when a delivery is short you are the one who fixes it before it becomes a schedule problem. This is a straight Monday to Friday day schedule in Sherwood Park with no rotation, no camp and no travel, so you are home every night. GrizzlyTrek places people with reputable employers and stays in the loop after the start date, not just up to it.
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications
  • Full time Monday to Friday day schedule in Sherwood Park, home every night
  • Opportunities for overtime based on operational requirements
  • Life insurance plus AD&D with critical illness and cancer coverage
  • Extended health and dental: drugs, hospital, vision, paramedical, mental health and child orthodontics
  • Travel insurance, plus ongoing training and career development support
