Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Mobile Maintenance Planner to join our Valued Clients team at a mine site in British Columbia. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to an individual committed to excellence, safety, and operational performance. The Mobile Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and cost-effective maintenance of all mobile mining equipment on site.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate resources to maintain and enhance critical mobile equipment performance and availability through detailed job planning and monitoring of execution to plan.
Develop and communicate weekly and biweekly preventive maintenance plans for all mobile equipment on site, including standard maintenance, repairs, and major planned outages with defined timelines.
Plan all major maintenance projects (long-range), including complete job packages, Gantt charts, purchase orders, work orders, manpower requirements, and required resources.
Monitor project costing, timelines, and performance in relation to approved budgets and schedules.
Participate in the development and management of the annual maintenance budget.
Prepare and submit Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documentation for major projects and equipment purchases.
Liaise with suppliers regarding maintenance services, spare parts procurement, expediting, and new product evaluations.
Coordinate materials ordering and ensure strong expediting practices to minimize downtime.
Ensure accurate daily recording of machine utilization, including operating hours, pre-start checklists, and usage data.
Collaborate with Mine Engineering to understand mine plans and forecast equipment requirements.
Maintain operational standards to achieve maintenance targets and equipment availability goals.
Assess performance against objectives regularly and implement corrective actions as required.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional departments.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in mobile equipment maintenance planning within a mining environment.
Strong knowledge of mine equipment maintenance systems and operations.
Thorough understanding of mine equipment standards, policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Demonstrated experience preparing maintenance budgets, work schedules, and performance reports.
Proven ability to manage short- and long-term maintenance planning objectives.
Experience with materials coordination, procurement processes, and expediting.
Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification or related trade qualification.
Supervisory or leadership experience within a mining maintenance environment.
Experience with large-scale mobile fleets including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and support equipment.
Work Environment:
This position is based at a remote mine site in British Columbia and operates on a 14x14 rotation, straight day shift. The role involves both office-based planning responsibilities and regular field interaction with maintenance teams and equipment in an active mining environment.
