Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Professional to join our team. This role involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, implementing sustainability practices, and conducting environmental assessments to support project operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting environmental stewardship and aligning company activities with industry best practices and regulatory standards.

Starting Rate: $45

Key Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance:
Conduct site assessments to ensure adherence to federal, provincial, and local environmental regulations.
Monitor project activities for compliance with environmental management plans and standards.
Sustainability Initiatives:
Develop and implement strategies to minimize environmental impact during construction and maintenance operations.
Promote sustainable practices within the project scope.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare environmental assessment reports, including site inspections, testing results, and recommendations for corrective actions.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of permits, approvals, and compliance records.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Provide guidance and recommendations to project managers regarding environmental risks.
Risk Management:
Identify potential environmental hazards and propose mitigation strategies.
Oversee waste management practices and ensure proper disposal methods are followed.
Training and Education:
Conduct environmental awareness training for employees and contractors.
Promote adherence to best practices in environmental safety and sustainability.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in environmental compliance, assessment, or management within construction or energy sectors.
Experience with high-voltage or infrastructure projects is an asset.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of Ontario-specific environmental regulations and standards.
Proficiency in environmental monitoring tools and software.
Strong report writing and data analysis skills.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Certifications (Preferred):
Certified Environmental Professional (EP) designation.
Training in hazardous waste management or environmental risk assessment.
